Lash Talk! Natural Lashes That Is!

Everywhere we look we see on the TV, billboards, and magazines with beautiful
women with full, volumized lashes! Many companies advertise that their
mascaras will make our lashes look more full and dramatic.  We also
see many salons advertising how they can add artificial lashes so we
can wake up perfect every morning. And believe me, I think all of this is great, but how are WE taking care of the lashes we naturally have? Or do we have any lashes left?

I just wanted to give some tips on how to take care for our OWN NATURAL LASHES.  So here we go!

1. Don’t Sleep With Makeup On:

Remove makeup from the eyes every night before bed!  Our lashes are sensitive and makeup can be heavy on the lashes and clogs the pores.  You can place makeup remover on a cotton ball and gently remove eye makeup, or use makeup wipes.

2. Lube Your Lashes! :

Olive oil helps grow the lashes stronger and longer. Just a small
amount on a q-tip along the lash line and gently rub on your lashes

Waterproof Mascara?!? Sounds good… Just not for everyday use! :  For events when we expect to get a little teary eyed yes waterproof mascara can be a great thing! But for everyday use these mascaras can cause damage and even loss of volume of the lashes.

These mascaras are formulated to hold on to your lashes and not
smudge in humidity and water. Remember our eyelashes are sensitive, and to remove waterproof mascara we tend to rub more vigorously to remove product.  This often causes healthy lashes to fall out or even break off or become brittle.

3. Safely Remove Your Lash Strips! :

As we all know, having your lash strips can add beauty and
dramatic affect to any look.  However, if lash strips are not removed properly you may rip
your eyelashes from the root!  This can drastically reduce the volume
of your natural lashes, trust me! Been there! Done that! Never again!

To remove lash strips your can get an eye makeup remover with an
oil base and saturate a cotton ball and let it sit on the lash line.  Then gently remove strips, making sure to remove any remaining glue to
prevent clogging the pores of the eyelashes.
You can also use oils such as coconut oil or olive oil saturated
on a cotton ball following the steps above.

Now, lashes definitely add to the beauty of a woman, so we must make sure that we are taking care of our lashes when the makeup is off. As well as making sure we are not adding extra stress to our lashes! Fact of the matter is it takes 2 weeks to a couple months to grow
our eyelashes back. So if you have not been giving your lashes love it
may take a couple of months to actually see progress, but stick in
there!  It will be well worth the wait!!!

I am pretty happy with this combo! I have noticed a difference in my skin’s texture. My skin feels smoother and I have noticed that the acne that I get on my cheeks have decreased!
I can literally feel the astringent pulling the dirt out of my pores. My pores has reduced in size but on the flip side I have noticed on occasion some dry spots. When I put my moisturizer on then it is fine.
I am currently researching what I can use to clear up my blemish marks! I’ll let you all know what I find!

Last week I had to make some adjustments!  This week my skin feels more moisturized and refreshed! Oh yeSSS, the zits that I had, it looks like the Clean and Clear cleanser cleared that right up in 7 days!
Now the Sea Breeze astringent made me feel like my pores were wide open! I use the astringent after I cleanse my face. I apply the Sea Breeze on a cotton ball, using a circular motion and this pulls up the dirt in my pores! Oh Em Gee I can feel it working!
I am still using the Ambi Face Moisturizer and exfoliating twice a week.
I will continue with this  combination of skin care products! I’m excited to see how my skin improves over the next few weeks!

Hope you ladies are hanging in there!!! Talk to me!  Comment!  If you don’t want to post your progress, feel free to email me your progress to !  I care about you all!  I really want to know how your skin care challenge is going!

Skin Care Challenge Week 1 !

After week one I have made a few changes, and I’ll tell you why.  The ambi face bar dried my face out too much and I felt like my skin was going to break! Yikes! The Queen Helene Scrub I did once a day and that was too harsh on my face.
So I had to make some adjustments! Now I have for my facial cleanser Clean & Clear, then after cleansing I use as an astringent Sea breeze followed, by the Ambi face lotion twice a day. The Queen Helene Face Scrub I am only going to use 2 times a week, probably Monday and Friday.

Today as I write my first blog post, I am filled with joy! My entire career has been in the medical field and in 2011 I decided to go after my dream of being A Professional Makeup Artist! I didn’t have much money to buy the makeup kit that I wanted and I knew I had to educate myself, so the world would take me seriously as a professional artist.

I have two girl friends that I am eternally grateful for. They believed in my gift and helped me to get started. April gave me a case of makeup that would be a great help to start my makeup kit along with Pauline who had been a beauty educator for Sephora to help teach me about product and help me understand the details and the concepts of good make up application along with me buying books written by other MUA’s to help create myself as an artist.

Over the years I have met some people who have taught me great lessons and some who I have learn hard lessons from. Good or bad every moment has led me here with you right now. I had moments where I wasn’t taken seriously, taken for granted, under valued and often times rejected. I even had times where I felt so low that I wanted to give up.

I love working with the everyday woman who has sometimes forgotten how beautiful she actually is. The look on her face as she sees her reflection in the mirror is absolutely priceless. Makeup artistry for me is far more than me making a woman feel good for the day. It is reminding them of the beauty that was always there and hopefully depositing something into her spirit that will not only allow her to see the outer beauty but the True Beauty and Strength that is within her. This is what has kept me from not giving up!
Today I feel a great sense of gratitude, excitement, humility, and optimism for the great things that are in store for the future. Today we will start this journey together not just with being beautiful on the outside but to grow in make up skill, feeling better about ourselves internally, and each day loving ourselves more and more! Oh yeah and having fun too!!!!

I want to thank God for giving me this gift to share with the world! To my Husband, Aaron and my sons thank you for supporting me, cheering me on and dealing with makeup all over the house!!! My special friend, Ingy for seeing something special, and believing in me. I appreciate you helping so much with this project and teaching me always challenging me to be better, and to have a spirit of excellence in everything that I do! I pray that the doors you help open for me that God gives it right back to you 100 fold!!!
