Lash Talk! Natural Lashes That Is!

Everywhere we look we see on the TV, billboards, and magazines with beautiful
women with full, volumized lashes! Many companies advertise that their
mascaras will make our lashes look more full and dramatic.  We also
see many salons advertising how they can add artificial lashes so we
can wake up perfect every morning. And believe me, I think all of this is great, but how are WE taking care of the lashes we naturally have? Or do we have any lashes left?

I just wanted to give some tips on how to take care for our OWN NATURAL LASHES.  So here we go!

1. Don’t Sleep With Makeup On:

Remove makeup from the eyes every night before bed!  Our lashes are sensitive and makeup can be heavy on the lashes and clogs the pores.  You can place makeup remover on a cotton ball and gently remove eye makeup, or use makeup wipes.

2. Lube Your Lashes! :

Olive oil helps grow the lashes stronger and longer. Just a small
amount on a q-tip along the lash line and gently rub on your lashes

Waterproof Mascara?!? Sounds good… Just not for everyday use! :  For events when we expect to get a little teary eyed yes waterproof mascara can be a great thing! But for everyday use these mascaras can cause damage and even loss of volume of the lashes.

These mascaras are formulated to hold on to your lashes and not
smudge in humidity and water. Remember our eyelashes are sensitive, and to remove waterproof mascara we tend to rub more vigorously to remove product.  This often causes healthy lashes to fall out or even break off or become brittle.

3. Safely Remove Your Lash Strips! :

As we all know, having your lash strips can add beauty and
dramatic affect to any look.  However, if lash strips are not removed properly you may rip
your eyelashes from the root!  This can drastically reduce the volume
of your natural lashes, trust me! Been there! Done that! Never again!

To remove lash strips your can get an eye makeup remover with an
oil base and saturate a cotton ball and let it sit on the lash line.  Then gently remove strips, making sure to remove any remaining glue to
prevent clogging the pores of the eyelashes.
You can also use oils such as coconut oil or olive oil saturated
on a cotton ball following the steps above.

Now, lashes definitely add to the beauty of a woman, so we must make sure that we are taking care of our lashes when the makeup is off. As well as making sure we are not adding extra stress to our lashes! Fact of the matter is it takes 2 weeks to a couple months to grow
our eyelashes back. So if you have not been giving your lashes love it
may take a couple of months to actually see progress, but stick in
there!  It will be well worth the wait!!!
